The Birdcage, 2018

Final design work for Design Studio 3.4
Year 3, University of Westminster, London (UK)

Inspired by the promotional and artistic endeavours of the Suffragette movement, the Birdcage is a fictional tale juxtaposing conflicting architectural moments in time, whose common ground forms the south-western entry to Bank Junction, to create a new beacon of gender equality. The projects addresses the less yet still existing issue of equality through a proposal of a new square dedicate in the name of Emmeline Pankhurst and her fight for the rights to vote. The proposal outlines, supports and addresses current movements. The square accommodates the birdcage installation, a public square, a suffragettes museum, sculpture studios and a ruins park.
